Paper describes requirements for simulation of space environment appropriate to spacecraft and its autopilot which includes firing rocket motors in simulation chamber; results of experience with autopilot simulations for Mariner II Venus and Mars spacecraft are presented and conclusions given for validity and limitations of such tests and for requirements of future space simulation facilities.
