Australian Road Research Board presents three reports on investigations carried out by Commonwealth Dept of Works; although dealing with heavy duty airfield pavements, reports are presented as of general interest and relevance to road pavements; their application is to high class road facilities which are required to carry heavy traffic flow without significant deterioration and maintenance requirements causing interruption to traffic; moisture conditions in pavement, accelerated traffic testing of flexible pavement for heavy aircraft, and investigations for strengthening pavement are discussed.
