Measurements were made of `impact factors' for 89×25×43 cm aircraft wheel rolling over selection of airfield landing lights; impact factors is defined as maximum dynamic load due to impact with landing light divided by normal load prior to impact; wooden models were used to simulate shapes of landing lights and change in load was measured at different speeds on strain gaged axle of test wheel of heavy load vehicle.
