Program carried out by Sun Oil Co to minimize customer complaints of filter plugging and carburetor flooding for which solid contaminants were held responsible; program involved all departments concerned with manufacture, storage, distribution, and marketing of product; effective and practical means of detecting and controlling solid contaminants (water, dirt, and rust) from refinery through gasoline distribution system to retail outlet are shown; sources, nature, and quantity of contaminants and their effects.
