Infinitely variable pneumatic service brake and falling weight safety brake have been combined in modern, unified design called Rapid brake; they operate through common main linkage rod and apply 2 sets of double brake blocks to braking rims at either side of pulley or drum; every installation is equipped with devices for supervising speed, maximum current, minimum pressure, etc, which apply emergency brake electrically through emergency tripping circuit.
