Ships for Glen Line will be known as "Glenlyon" class; they are 544 ft in length oa, 74 ft 6 in. beam, and of about 11,000 gross tons; propulsion is by 9-cyl 900-mm bore Sulzer engines giving 18,000 bhp at 113 rpm; propeller absorbs 15,500 bhp at 107.5 rpm under fair weather service conditions; information is also given on diesel generators, auxiliary boilers, pumping systems, refrigerating and air conditioning machinery, duct system, d-c electrical installation, fire fighting arrangements.
