Italian-built steamers Savoia and 28 Ottobre for service on Lake Como; length, b.p. 168 ft.; breadth, molded 21 ft. freeboard, about 8 ft. 6 in.; three-cylinder triple-expansion paddle engines are fitted with Caprotti poppet valve gear; paddle wheels are each provided with 8 feathering floats mounted on eccentric.
