New Destroyers, Tucuman, Mendoza and La Rioja, built by J. Samuel White and Co., Cowes; principal features include high speed, powerful armament, and ability to keep at sea in all weathers for long periods without having to refuel; length, 330 ft. 9 in.; load displacement 2300 tons; main armament consists of five 120-mm. 45-caliber guns, one 76-mm. anti-aircraft and two 40-mm. pompom guns, with high-angle mountings; propelling machinery consists of two sets of Parsons-type turbines each coupled through reduction gearing to propeller shafting; trial performances.
