Quantitative measurements of wind-tunnel turbulence and its effect on air resistance of spheres and airship models; result of present work is curve by means of which measurements of air resistance of spheres can be interpreted to give turbulence quantitatively; attempt is made to interpret observed results in terms of boundary-layer theory and for this purpose account is given of physical bases of theory.
