Cleddau King, built by Hancocks Shipbldg Co (Pembroke) for Pembrokeshire County Council is for service between Neyland and Hobbs Points at Milford Haven and will carry 22 cars and 250 passengers; vessel is basically chine built, but influence of hydroconic design is obvious; hull is double ended, and 2 Voith Schneider propellers are fitted; length oa 101 ft, breadth over sponsons 39 ft, loaded draft 5 ft 6 in.; 8-cyl twin Gleniffer diesel engines each develop 160 bhp at 900 rpm.
