Design of 2 navigation and guidance systems which employ gimballess inertial measurement unit (IMU); basic configurations of S-system and B-system are treated and considered for different missions -- cruise type navigator for piloted aircraft, and guidance system for rocket vehicle; equations that relate input data to desired output quantities are derived for each case and computer requirements for solving equations discussed; error analysis including effects of instrument and computer errors.
