Fitting developed by North American Aviation, Inc, and sponsored by Bureau of Naval Weapons Contract, is fabrication of union mechanical fitting and fluid carrying tube into integral unit; approach, when compared with standard fitting, will reduce number of leak points and space and weight; improvement represents 50% increase in reliability and 30 to 45% space and weight savings for all union-type connectors; design principles, manufacturing techniques, and economics of fitting.
