Paper covers application techniques for measuring and predicting maintainability in terms of inherent maintenance down-time; prediction technique developed by RCA Service Co under U S Air Force contract was derived from field data on Air Force ground electronic equipment in SAGE system; application of techniques is limited; Martin Co undertook research to adapt, enlarge, and verify techniques for use on aerospace ground and airborne electronic and mechanical systems; findings are reported.
