Results of study performed by U S Naval Training Center to determine degree of fidelity with which airplane dynamic and static response characteristics must be simulated in ground-based simulator; handling qualities evaluation data reflect pilot technique as function of airplane statics and dynamics and it is possible to infer from handling qualities data information required; techniques of inference used and determinations of pilot sensitivity to airplane characteristics that resulted from study are presented.
