To aid introduction of British Aircraft Corp One-Eleven into airline service, computer program was evolved to calculate permissible takeoff weight; it is based on Ferranti Pegasus computer, installed at Weybridge division offices; criteria of program and inputs consisting of identifier (normally airfield name and runway number), takeoff run, emergency stop distance and takeoff distance, runway slope, airfield elevation, coordinates of each obstacle, and various combinations of wind and temperature; basic flow diagram and various stages of program.
