Study conducted by Northrop Corp to determine optimum shaping of control power which provides handling qualities that require little effort on part of pilot to maintain good control; two-axis moving base simulator used and test program for altitude control (throttle), roll, pit and yaw control are described; criterion used to determine optimum control was pilot's opinion based on Cooper rating system; results obtained.
