Survey shows that fixed wing STOL, helicopter and VTOL-STOL aircraft seem to have potential capability of serving as close-support transports aerial observation and command posts, and aerial fire platforms; advantages and limitations of each type; tabulation of advanced programs, techniques used, performance characteristics, and present status.
