Program established for weapon system of F-105 aircraft by Republic Aviation Corp; four systems in which improvement in reliability would result in maximum benefits to overall weapon were selected to establish guaranteed Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), then sample test each production lot to assure that MTBF was being achieved or exceeded; plan included incentive/penalty approach in which incentives, in form of added profits, would be obtained if MTBF values above certain value were achieved; penalties were assessed if values below extablished minimum requirement were obtained; results obtained are summarized.
