Studies carried out by U S Air Force Aero Propulsion Laboratory on effects of subsonic flight environment on fuels refined for high Mach number application; high temperature fuel property requirements and hydrocarbon composition to meet these requirements; fuel compositions and low temperatures; results of wing tank pumpability tests; materials compatibility of high temperature fuels; it is concluded that establishment of specification criteria to obtain high temperature fuel suitable for subsonic and supersonic use will adversely affect cost and availability of product.
