Attainment of product reliability is based upon performance of eight steps which are outlined; to be effective, Quality Control must perform specific functions in areas of prevention, appraisal, and failure analysis; approach used at American Motors Corp to accomplish these objectives is outlined with respect to three areas, incoming material control, manufacturing process control, and field failure analysis.
