Production process of fiberglass reinforced plastics, made from glass-fibers and polyester resins, is reviewed and equipment used for molding of various parts described; economics and recent progress in costs of fiberglass reinforced plastic molding indicate that improvement in quality and reduction in cost can be expected; advantages of molded fiber glass car body over steel body are enumerated and various examples of applications, such as truck hoods, fenders, cabs, trailer and car bodies, are shown.
