Large-scale investigations were carried out at Federal Materials Testing Institute, Duebendorf, Zurich, Switzerland to examine interrelationship of octane ratings by means of motor octane number (MON) and rating of octane number (RON) method; experimental procedure, results obtained and conclusions drawn.
