Report on "air-inducting" exhaust manifold; exhaust gases from each cylinder port are discharged into throat of exhaust pipe which has frontal bellmouth; cooling air is drawn into pipe, where it surrounds and mixes with exhaust gases; flight tests showed reductions in manifold temperatures of several hundred degrees, to values below ignition point of aviation gasoline.
