Principal drive of light, stream-lined rail car is six cylinder internal combustion engine of 500 hp.; full speed of 93.2 m.p.h. in still air claimed with 200 hp., leaving ample margin for head winds; fuel consumption 50 liters per 100 km., accommodations for 40 passengers; German State railway authorities are not directly taking part in development of this car, but have shown keen interest and have provided stretch of railway on which experimental tests have been carried out.
