In evaluating marine practice, only proper basis for comparison is with land plants of about same unit turbine capacity; how economic incentives affecting progress differ for land and marine plants; however, in relation to inherent sizes and load factors marine plants use equivalent steam conditions and plant cycle arrangements; comparison of prime movers, steam generators, cycles, etc. Bibliography.
