Frictional resistance; one of major problems is extrapolation of results experimentally determined at low Reynolds' numbers to assess frictional resistance of ships at high Reynolds' numbers; diagrams of frictional resistance to highest ship Reynolds' number show that recent theoretical progress accurately interpolates available experiment data.
