Cost analysis of airplane operation on large scale is given, starting with today's scale of operations flying one small 5-passenger 300-hp. airplane; future of passenger traffic; selecting route for study; assignment of personnel and equipment; cost per passenger mile around 15 cents for small scale operation carrying 10 passengers, drops to 9 cents per passenger mile for 8-trip operation carrying 40 passengers; tables show capital investment, operating costs for one year and unit operating costs.
