Great difference between aviation in America and in England was that in America it had to pay by itself and could not rely on subsidies to help it along; air mail service; air-cooled engine had very largely brought about rapid expansion of various lines; night flying; airplane industry very healthy but there was danger of too much capital being put into it. Paper presented before Am. Chamber of Commerce in London.
