Additional notes are presented calling particular attention to fact that nature of problem is such that at present time no set rules can be followed; definite schedule for measuring engine temperatures should be followed; actual designing of cowling started by layout for shape of nose of outer cowling; inner cowling as deflector; flight tests have shown opening at rear to be most critical point; cowling used as carburetor air heater.
