Sept 27: Characteristics of airplane engines exhibited at Olympia are discussed; 60 per cent air-cooled and 40 per cent water-cooled exhibited; values of stroke-bore ratio compared; braek mean effective pressures practically all between 115 and 125 lb. per sq. in.; weight-power ratio; comparison of brake horsepower per liter; cylinder design; duralumin heads found on some of smaller engines.
