Necessity for close cooperation and collaboration between fuel producer and engine designer is emphasized; physical stability demanded of aviation fuel; demand for anti-knock qualities by suitable selection of best degree of turbulence, best bore-stroke ratio, best sparking-plug position, straight gasoline may be used at high-compression ratios without pinking.
