Causes and nature of spinning of airplane and measures for prevention and recovery from spin are discussed; tests said to have shown that spinning is stable motion of rotation and that real dangers are in its instability; some new disposition of control surfaces so as to increase their effectiveness and to prevent shielding of rudder by body is important; possibility of using automatic leading-edge slots on horizontal tail-surfaces suggested.
