Simple method for calculating position of elastic axis of wing structure having any number of spars; strong drag bracing near top and bottom of wing greatly increases torsional strength; analytical procedure for finding contribution of drag bracing to torsional strength and stiffness; mathematical theory of forces producing flutter is not yet sufficiently far advanced to determine by direct calculation critical air speed at which flutter will commence.
