Growing need for indirect assistance by Government, particularly in airports; three per cent of area devoted to railroads and roads in United States would provide comprehensive system of landing fields; if airports were located throughout this country at intervals of 10 mi. in each direction, airplane would never be more than 5 mi. from landing field.
