Explanation of operation and performance of H. Pitcairn's autogiro; blades do not have very great bending stresses as do airplane wings; decreasing angle of attack; about 3/4mi. of slow taxiing necessary before rotors gain required 90 r.p.m.; best angle of climb; operating controls; autogiro cannot be stalled or spun; no difficulty about overshooting field.
