Manufacture of incandescent lamps for automobiles on automatic-machine basis; simplification enables 11 or 12 types to meet 90 per cent of demand; adoption of fixedfocus head lamps by several car manufacturers was greatest advance in 1928 and should do much to reduce glare; interior lighting can be improved still more by using 15 or 21-cp. lamps; no solution of fog problem has been reached; less light rather than more is desirable.
