Description of tests made by J. H. Doolittle employing new devices to conquer fog, upon which Daniel Guggenheim Fund for Promotion of Aeronautics has been working; Doolittle, seated in cockpit of Wright-powered, Consolidated training plane, cockpit enclosed in order to obscure all vision, guided his craft safely into air, made flight of 15 mi., and then returned to landing near spot of his take-off; new special radio beacon used.
