Apparatus for mechanical washing of outsides of cars; in form of eight vertical mops, or wipers, placed in two rows, four at each side of track, enclosed in brick building; during operation of washing, cars travel at rate of about 1 1/2 m.p.h.; vehicle can be washed by means of apparatus in 1 1/2 min.; plant is divided into two sections, each of which is driven by 15-hp. motor.
