Article explains methods used by Forest Products Laboratory in developing technic for making survey which, it is believed, will yield information of interest not only in forestry problem in which more efficient utilization of low-grade and waste material is paramount but also in problems of transportation affecting railroads, manufacturers, and consumers throughout United States; observation of 56 car-lot shipments of canned goods in fiber containers.
