Record of non-stop run of 775 mi. was recently accomplished on Buenos Aires Great Southern Railway with total train weight of 159 metric tons; locomotive is "Beardmore" 8-cylinder, 4-stroke Diesel engine, normal b.hp. 375 at 700 r.p.m., direct coupled to Metropolitan-Vickers compound-wound, d.c. generator, rated at 300 kw. 750 volts.
