As result of preliminary work carried out in recent years, Berlin railway administration has begun installation of electric operation on suburban sections, Berlin-Bernau and Berlin-Hermsdorf, adopting simple alternating current of 15,000 volts and 16 2/3 periods generated from three-phase current supplied by existing power station. Trolley-line system will be constructed as a catenary overhead line with distances of 100 m. between poles. Trains consist of twelve 3rd-class suburban cars drawn by two B-type railway motor cars.
