Freight and passenger motor vessels Moldavia and Kotowsky; deadweight capacity 450 tons; shape of hull is designed with special regard to ice service; main engine is of Deutz compressorless type; eight cylinders of 480 mm. diam. and 760 mm. stroke and develops 1060 b.hp. at 175 r.p.m.; fuel consumption amounts to only .38 lb. per b.hp.-hr. at 1200 b.hp.; between engine and propeller shafting there is provided hydraulic coupling of Vulcan type.
