During preparations for Christmas business in December, 1927, Eleto Co. estimated that it would require six more 3/4-ton gasoline trucks for delivery of Lord and Taylor and James McCreery and Co. packages in suburban territory beyond limits of New York City; problem was solved by purchasing six new electric trucks and transferring existing short-route gasoline trucks in city work to suburban territory; justification for this procedure was based on operating savings of electric trucks as given in accompanying table.
