British Pluck is 240 ft. long, beam being 32 ft, 6 in.; carries full deadweight of 1000 tons on draft of 12 ft.; deck equipment is steam driven; propelling engine is of latest Neptune-Polar design; has six cylinders, 420 mm. bore with piston stroke of 720 mm.; develops 820 b.hp. at 130 r.p.m.; on trials speed of 10 3/4 knots was attained; plans of engine are illustrated.
