Disregard of simple precautions is responsible for 2500 fatalities and 7000 injuries annually at railroad crossings in United States; only remedy for highway-crossing accidents is to teach 30 or 40 million drivers in country to drive safely and back up this teaching with suitable laws and enforcement of laws that will make it more desirable to be safe than reckless.
