One of greatest problems of railroad today is growth and development of automotive industry; automobile is, and has been for years, taking away from railroads each year a constantly increasing volume of business; same will shortly be true of airplane; outlines position of railroads with regard to highway, waterway and air competition; railroads are largely dependent, in Southwest, on prosperity of farmer.
