Oxyacetylene and electric welding and cutting since its introduction into railroad industry has greatly simplified and reduced cost of fabricating and maintaining work in mechanical departments; three modern methods of welding are: thermit, autogenous process, and electric; all are in vogue on Canadian National Railways; illegitimacy of fused welding; field of adaptability; all fused welds are diseased; condition has lot to do in controlling what method of welding is in existence.
