Review of report published by Crown Agents for Colonies; first railway was German-built line running from Bagdad to Samarrah; lines laid down and equipped during war; British lines were very hurriedly pushed up country by way of easiest alignment for material available; commends manner in which railways are being run as much as possible on commercial lines; as regards traffic; railways are showing considerable enterprise; on matter of organization, author recommends adoption of full divisional system; labor questions.
