Review of official report to Hamburg Tank Society of experiments made during last 2 years upon 5 twin-screw motor craft on Danube River; author investigated numerous cases of damage and finds that where blades are merely distorted torque at constant revolutions is reduced; investigates torsional oscillation by propeller shafting showing unsuitability of 3-bladed screws driven by 6-cylinder engines and comparative freedom from vibration following use of 4-blade screws. Abstract translated from Werft -- Reederei -- Hafen, Nov. 7, 1927, p. 445.
