First of ten new engines being built at Crewe Works is mixed traffic locomotive, fifth of series of standard types for British Railways; there are two outside cylinders, 19 1/2 in. bore by 28 in. stroke, coupled wheels are 6 ft 2 in. in diam, boiler pressure 225 psi, and tractive effort 27,520 lb; illustrations.
